Very often, during discussions about Agile transformation of the company, we find ourselves in a situation where there are many untruths and misexpectations surrounding this change in the company. These then lead to disappointment in the outcome of the transformation or even non-acceptance of changes in the company. However, if you manage to name them correctly right at the beginning and put them to the right measure, this is a good start to the whole change. Therefore, I have prepared for you the 7 most common things that we definitely do not promise because we know that we cannot fulfill them to the client. If you're wondering which ones they are along with an explanation of why, you're in the right place and read on.
1. Agile transformation is a project that has an end
Agility is about the mindset of continuous improvement. Transformation prepares your business for changes in the future and teaches it the skills of continuous controlled change. But to delimit the transformation with a fixed end is impossible, this is a never-ending “project”.
2. It won't cost you anything extra
When you want to work on yourself and develop, it always costs something. Muscles also did not grow for anyone by reading smart books and watching motivational videos without hard work and extra time invested. The notion that the transformation will be free is utterly odd. With a high probability you will save in the long run, but certainly not at the very beginning.
3. In addition to the corporate structure, you do not need to change anything
On the contrary, a lot of things often need to be changed in the company. Without changing the culture, leadership style and handing over responsibility to the people, it will certainly not be possible!
4. You just need to stick to a proven manual
There is no universal guide to successful transformation. Every business is different and needs a different type and method of change. We always tailor solutions to a specific company and take into account its context and needs.
5. From the first days you will be faster
Everything good wants its time. The transformation itself can often slow down a company paradoxically at the beginning. But gradually, thanks to changes, it accelerates and is better able to cope with all the pitfalls of the world. And faster and more efficiently than ever!
6th. Everyone will be happier right away
As humans, we generally don't like change. Therefore, you can expect that only a very small handful of people will always be satisfied at the beginning of the whole process. Agility is not for everyone, and therefore it is possible that you will even have to part with someone. However, as time goes on, the benefits will begin to show, and with a greater degree of trust, you will get satisfied and engaged employees.
7. It all goes perfectly to plan
In itself, transformation is often the first Agile project in a company. By never ending, it cannot be planned. Along the path of change, there will be a lot of obstacles that we prioritize over the rest and systematically remove.
